Battle Blitz – Official Rules

Objective

Capture more flags than your opponent. Each flag is won by placing the strongest formation of cards. The player with the most flags at the end wins.

Game Setup

Players: 2

Cards:

• 70 Formation Cards: 7 colors (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, Orange, Pink), ranks 1–10
• 2 Cannon Cards: One per player
• 18 Flag Cards: 9 Placed face-up on the battlefield

Player Hand: Each player starts with 5 Formation Cards. After placing a card, they must draw a new one before playing again.

Flags on the Board

• Encampments: (4 flags)
• Outposts: (2 flags)
• Garrison: (1 flag)
• Stronghold: (1 flag)
• Citadel: (1 flag)

Flag Placement:

Place the flags in a horizontal line in the following order:

Outpost, Garrison, Encampment, Encampment, Stronghold, Encampment, Encampment, Citadel, Outpost.

Flag Effects

• Encampment: Holds 3 formation cards Special Effect: When the first player completes their formation on an Encampment flag, the game is paused until the opponent also completes their formation on that same flag
• Outpost: Holds 2 formation cards Special Effect: No effect.
• Garrison: Holds 3 formation cards The first player to complete their formation on this flag increases their hand size permanently by 1 (from 5 cards to 6).
• Stronghold: Holds 5 formation cards Special Effect: The first player to complete their formation on this flag may perform an attack, allowing them to remove one of their opponent’s cards.
• Citadel: Holds 4 formation cards Special Effect: The first player to complete their formation on this flag may retrieve one of their own cards from any other flag and return it to their hand.

Turn Structure

• Simultaneous Play: There are no turns. Both players act at any time.
• Card Placement: Place one card on any flag with available space. Draw to refill your hand.
• Formation Completion: Once the required number of cards is placed on a flag, that formation is considered complete. The first player to complete their formation immediately triggers that flag’s special effect.

Cannon Cards

• Each player has one Cannon Card.
• Loading: Place two Formation Cards of the same color onto your Cannon.
• Pause: Once loaded, the game pauses—allowing you to target an opponent’s Formation Card anywhere on the board.
• Attack: Remove one of your opponent’s cards, then immediately resume play.

Formations & Rankings

• High Card: Highest single card.
• Pair: Two cards of the same rank.
• Two Pair: Two different pairs.
• Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank.
• Straight: 3+ consecutive cards of any color.*
• Flush: 3+ cards of the same color.*
• Full House: Three of a kind + a pair.
• Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank.
• Straight Flush: Straight with all cards of the same color.*

⚠️ Only cards on the same flag are evaluated together.

* A Straight, Straight Flush, or Flush only counts if the number of consecutive cards (for a Straight) or cards of the same color (for a Flush) exactly matches the flag’s card capacity.

For example, on a flag that holds 5 cards, having only 4 consecutive cards does not qualify as a Straight or Straight Flush.

Winning the Game

Play continues until both players have finished placing their formations on every flag, at which point the game ends.

Victory Points: Capture flags with the strongest formations to earn points — 1 per flag!

The player with the highest total claims victory.
